Privacy policy

My Fridge is made by Kitchen Compass Studio LLC ("we"). It helps you keep track of the food in your kitchen, plan meals, and find recipes. This page explains, in plain words, what information the app uses, why, and the choices you have. We don't sell your information, we don't show ads, and we don't use tracking or advertising tools.
What we store
- Your account: your email address and a password (stored securely by our login provider; we never see your password).
- Your kitchen: the food you add or scan (names, amounts, dates, where it's kept), your shopping list, saved recipes, and meal plans.
- Your settings: appearance, color theme, recipe and dietary defaults, and the nickname you choose.
- Usage counts: how many scans and recipe requests you make and their size, to keep the service fair and affordable. This doesn't include your photos.
Photos and AI
When you scan, your photos are made smaller on your device and sent to Google's Gemini AI service to recognize the food in them. When you ask for recipes, your food list and recipe choices are sent to Gemini too, and "recipes from websites" uses Google Search to find real recipes. My Fridge does not keep your photos: they're used for that one request. Google handles this information under its Gemini API terms.
Sharing a kitchen
If you join or invite people to a shared kitchen, everyone in it can see and change its food, shopping list, and meal plan, and can see your email address, nickname, and dietary preferences. If you leave, you no longer see the shared kitchen; the items stay with the others.
Who helps us run the app
- Supabase stores your account and kitchen data and handles logging in.
- Vercel hosts the app.
- Google (Gemini and Google Search) recognizes food in photos and suggests recipes.
They only process your information to provide these services to My Fridge.
On your device
The app keeps a few things on your phone so it opens quickly: your appearance and theme choice, your latest recipe ideas, and a pending invite code. Logging out or deleting the app removes them.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, your own kitchen's food, shopping list, meal plans, saved recipes, and settings. In a shared kitchen, food you added stays with the other members. You can also email us to ask for deletion.
Children
My Fridge isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes and contact
